POTSDAM – HISTORICAL PARKS AND PALACES
Potsdam is located in the Federal State of Brandenburg,which offers a combination of beautiful landscape and waterways along the Havel and Spree rivers. The city, which is approximately 15 miles from the center of Berlin, was the residential area for the Prussian Electors and Kings as well as the German Emperors since the 17th century.
Take time to tour the Sanssouci Palace, which was built as a summer residence for Prussia´s most famous king, Frederick the Great. Participate in a tour of the palace and walk through the beautiful gardens. In there you might visit Frederick the Great´s graveside and the chinese teahouse for example. For most visitors Potsdam is also known because of the Conference after the end of WW2, which took place in the Cecilienhof Palace.
